This area has been designated as a National Preservation District for Important Traditional Buildings.

Traditional buildings are historical settlements and townscapes that are highly valued as cultural properties.
Not only are there valuable old buildings, fences, stone bridges, etc., but this townscape has also been nurtured by people living there over a long period of time.
It flourished as the castle town of Utubuki Castle in the Muromachi period and Jinya town in the Edo period.
Many of the white-walled warehouses were built in the Edo and Meiji eras, and you can still see the image of those days.

The stone bridge over Tamagawa and the elegant streetscape with white plaster walls on red tiles are attractive.
The white-walled warehouses and buildings that were once used as sake breweries and soy sauce shops are now used in various forms such as product halls, coffee shops, and galleries.
