The street corner watching -Sunpu Castle Park-

This time’s street corner watching is “Sunpu Castle Park”.

The visit date is October 9, 2021.
Sunpu Castle Park is on the way from Shizuoka Sengen Shrine to JR Shizuoka Station.
I passed through the red large torii gate and walked through a shopping street with arcades on both sides.
Turn left at the intersection where the shopping street ends, and after a while you will see Kon Yagura.
While looking at Kon Yagura, we walked along Ninomaru Moat, passed Ninomaru Bridge, and entered Sunpu Castle Park.
I walked along looking for the markings carved into the stone wall.
Speaking of Sunpu Castle, everyone thinks of Tokugawa Ieyasu.
It is a well-known story that he was taken hostage as a child and spent his later years here.
On the sidewalk along Ninomaru-bori, there is a guide board showing the places where Ieyasu took a walk.
It’s Saturday, it’s sunny, and the state of emergency has ended, so it’s crowded with many families.
Inside, I saw a group of young people drinking long-awaited beers.
The park was so large that we couldn’t go around it all.
After seeing Honmarubori, I exited from the East Gate.
While looking at Tatsumi Yagura, I headed towards JR Shizuoka Station.

This concludes our introduction to Sunpu Castle Park.
