Street Corner Watching “Kinki series” -Shitennoji-

This time too, street corner watching will be the “Kinki series”.
The sixth is “Shitennoji”.

Shitennoji is a temple near Tennoji Station.
When I visited before, I used the navigation app on my smartphone.
As is still the case, the navigation app is not being used effectively.
It is a memorable temple that arrived after walking for almost 2 hours from Tennoji station.
This time, I made a slight mistake just by remembering, but I was able to arrive at my destination safely.
Shitennoji is the head temple of the Japanese sect located in Shitennoji, Tennoji-ku, Osaka.

It is considered to be one of “Shichidaiji” built by Prince Shotoku.
There is Shitennoji Nanamiya, which was built as a guardian when Shitennoji was built.
There are seven shrines, Ooe Shrine, Kaminomiya Shrine, Ogi Shrine, Kubo Shrine, Doto Shrine, Kobore Inari Shrine, and Horikoshi Shrine.
The principal image is the salvation Kannon.
According to “Nihon Shoki”, it is said that the construction started in the first year of Empress Suiko (593).
“Tennoji” used in the names of wards and stations around this temple is an abbreviation for Shitennoji.
In the hospital, there are many important cultural properties such as the Dragon Well, Nishimon, Higashijumon, Kairo, Chumon, Rokujido, and Ishibutai, centering on the Kondo and Five-storied Pagoda.
You can also see the male figure of Abeno Harukas nearby.

Last time, I came to Before Corona.
I was free to enter and exit the five-storied pagoda, and all the exhibits I came in contact with were available.
They are no longer available.
There was no temperature test or hand disinfection.
Shooting is prohibited in most shrines and temples, not just in Shitennoji.
I’m always dissatisfied with that point.
After worshiping, I returned to Tennoji.
I took a picture of the city.

This concludes the introduction of “Shitennoji”.
